I had some interviews with farmers. Most painful point is selling the crop at dust and same dust become gold when reached the end goal.

That would be win win for both consumer and farmer. Even i was thinking of such idea. Where i will go and approch these farmers and purchase crops from them and sell it in cities (directly to consumer or retailer)

Building distribution is not that easy for everyone. Farmers having better connects will make more. Remember this can promote the farmers who have more relations with someone in politics or some goons. Things can go south in a lot of ways.

This is good idea but lots of people failed to do this..

Direct organic sourcing is now a growing market but still a lot left to penetrate. :) This is already being implemented.

Next Amazon/Flipkart is in Agriculture.

Farmers are not tech-savvy. It’ll be hard for them to adopt anything new.

Many startup are doing the same as per your idea but if you can do category wise then it'll give more significant solutions, I'm also interested with this idea, Connect me for collaboration I'll also join you.

Unless you start distributing directly after sourcing from them, this is hard to do. And even if you do it, you will become to middleman and defeat the core purpose.

0 moat and defensibility. One will die building defensibility here.

I have heard of many agritech startups who are doing this. For vegetables, for fruits etc etc. You might want to research harder.

Building the supply chain is the key challenge.

Setting up distribution for a farmer would be the challenge. I still believe they can benefit via a union.

Nope, people trying this for years. Many things comes in between such as government, mediators and etc. sometimes you stuck up with the product and you have to pay for it. There are many supply chain, logistics problems as the vegetables are not fresh for many days. The best idea I would say is partner with apartments, small apartement cities and become a middle men you can make a good business. If you stuck up with customers. It's not good for you. Do a b2b kinda thing best for you dude.

Well first of all if farmers have to sell the goods directly to the consumer, they will have to clear many hurdles such as transport,selling cost, knowledge about the market,etc.
