You are idiot not brutal. You dont know what is ethical business means. In business three things are very important- 1. The ROI or business proposition 2. Customers needs 3. Technical feasibility of the process or a product. You have to balance out these three aspects. You cannot focus on just one side of it. You must have empathy. You can’t Just make business and forget the customers. Thats what you did wrong.
