I want to know who is giving my numbers to random companies who text me on whatsapp. I’ll find them and expose them one day. If I register and then whatsapp comes, it’s still fine. But wtf is consent-less spamming 😑

Here’s an exercise that can help with this, I have personally benefitted from it. Sit down on a Sunday with only the goal of clearing your Whatsapp, unsubscribe all the company chats that are spamming you, leave all the groups and communities you don’t want to be a part of, block super fishy and random numbers that are spamming with promotions, mute all stories from unwanted people. This might take sometime but you’ll be super happy. You can do the same for notifications being sent by multiple apps in your mobile, delete all useless apps and mute notifs for app that are needed but spammy. Makes your life superrrr easy.

Man, whatsapp has to make money someday. I see these problems increasing in near future as they try to make more and more money off our data.

Changing your number is an extreme but good hack. Spread a message out from your old number that you are changing your number and collect all contacts that are important to you and then switch! Problem solved.

There has to be a better solution mannnnn. I have explored this second sim services but yet to find a reliable option that works well 😟

Trying using Archive feature more. Once you archive those channels can keep sending you things but you will never be notified.

Telegram is even more hectic to deal with. Way worse than Whatsapp.
