A recent incident in Delhi has exposed a scam where an Uber driver allegedly charged a passenger double the fare using a fake payment screenshot. The incident took place when a passenger booked an Uber ride from the airport. The app initially showed a fare of Rs. 340, but upon reaching the destination, the driver demanded Rs. 648, citing waiting charges. The passenger noticed discrepancies in the screenshot provided by the driver, including a misspelled name and two Uber app icons. After contacting Uber customer care, it was revealed that the driver had reported collecting only Rs. 127.48. This incident has raised concerns about similar scams happening to other users.
