RCS offers advanced messaging features such as rich media, group chats, and interactive content. While WhatsApp has dominated app-based messaging in India, RCS aims to compete by providing a non-spam messaging experience and educating enterprises about its benefits. This move aligns with the Indian telecom regulator's directive to curb spam messages and calls.
