Tata Group has begun the construction of a semiconductor plant in Assam's Jagiroad, which will manufacture about 4.83 crore chips per day using indigenous technologies. With an investment of Rs 27,000 crores, the facility is expected to create 27,000 jobs and is set to become operational by 2025.
