The startup has signed an MoU with Kaynes Semiconductor to support assembly and testing once wafers arrive from TSMC. optoML operates as a fabless semiconductor company and focuses on scalable AI System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms built on FinFET nodes. Bluehill.VC focuses on deep-tech investments across semiconductors, defence, energy, and industrial technology.

Bengaluru-based specialty chemicals startup Atomgrid has raised $7 million in a pre-Series A round through a mix of equity and debt. The equity portion of the round was led by A99, with participation from Sadev Ventures, CDM Capital, and existing investor Merak Ventures. Alongside equity, the firm has secured venture debt from Trifecta, SIDBI, and RevX. Prior to this, Atomgrid had raised $1.25 million in May last year. The proceeds will be used to expand its international presence and accelerate product development. Founded by Siddharth Gupta and Lakshit Bansal, Atomgrid operates as a full-stack specialty chemicals platform focused on integrating the value chain through distribution, R&D, and proprietary product development. Atomgrid currently derives over 50% of its revenue from exports and works with more than 150 active customers across 15 countries. Over the last 18 months, the startup has completed two funding rounds and is targeting nearly threefold revenue growth in FY26 compared to FY25. Atomgrid competes with 3one4 Capital-backed Scimplifi and Nexus-backed Covvalent.

Kerala-based semiconductor startup Netrasemi has raised Rs 10 crore in its pre-Series A round from Unicorn India Ventures to build Edge AI for IoT products. The proceeds will be used raised will be used for the fabrication of two ML SoC chips (Netra A2000 and Netra R1000). Founded in 2020 by Jyothis Indirabhai, Sreejith Varma, and Deepa Geetha, Netrasemi is an Indian Edge AI semiconductor technology company building system-on-chips (SOC) to enable the new-age need for optimal computing for smart IoT products. The company claims to bring a family of AI/ML capable SOCs and reference designs for solving over 100 AI/ML use cases making Edge AI product development efficient, simple, and economical. These chips go into motherboards that make these products capable of doing advanced AI-based analytics without the need for sending the data to servers and the cloud hence, making them smart, cheap, responsive and independent. In the last 12 months, the company has received encouraging responses from large OEMs across various countries operating in medical, telecom, and industrial segments. According to the company, it has started generating strong revenue growth and profits of around $0.75 million from chip design and porting service for strategy partners, which will grow further in FY25 to 150% with IP revenue and will grow starting FY27 once volume production of chips starts.

Mindgrove Technologies, a fabless semiconductor design startup, has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Rocketship.vc and Speciale Invest. The round also witnessed participation from Mela Ventures and existing investors Peak XV Partners, Nishchay Goel, Whiteboard Capital, and Anshul Goel. The Chennai-based startup had previously secured $2.325 million in seed funding from Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India & SEA), Speciale Invest, and Whiteboard Capital back in early 2023. The proceeds will be utilized to expand its workforce, enhance its in-house engineering capabilities, and accelerate production and sales of the first chip, Mindgrove said in a press release. Co-founded in 2021 by Sharan Jagathrakshakan and T.R. Shashwath, Mindgrove is incubated by IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation and IIT Madras Incubation Cell. The company designs high-performance SoCs with advanced features at competitive prices for the Indian and global markets. According to Mindgrove, it has launched “Secure IoT,” a commercial-grade high-performance microcontroller SoC (System-on-Chip) taped out at 28nm. Designed for electronic devices that are transforming into “smart” connected devices like watches, meters, locks, and access control units, as well as for powering devices like printers and PoS machines. The chip is on schedule to reach the market by mid-2025. Mindgrove has received approval under the Government of India's Semiconductor Design Linked Incentive (DLI) scheme, amounting to Rs 15 crore, for developing a new chip, “Vision SoC,” meant for high-performance edge computing and vision processing applications — CCTV cameras, dashcams, video recorders, ADAS, smart TVs, and more.

The total funding raised by the Bengaluru-based startup now stands at $4.02 million. The proceeds will be used to scale up manufacturing and expand its team. Founded in 2019 by Animesh Kumar Jha, Volt14 focuses on developing silicon-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. It has also developed an in-house cylindrical battery cell format demonstrating energy density enabled by its silicon anode. Volt14 claims that its technology increases silicon content in anodes while maintaining performance levels and is currently being evaluated by multiple battery cell manufacturers. According to market research, the lithium-ion battery sector is projected to exceed $300 billion by 2034, driven by electric vehicle adoption and energy storage expansion. Blume Ventures, the lead investor in this round, is also one of the early backers of Battery Smart, which is the most funded startup in the space.
