The Indian government is planning to launch the second phase of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), aiming to bring the entire semiconductor ecosystem to India. This initiative includes component companies, raw material suppliers, semiconductor fabrication units, and chip packaging units. The government will need three to four months to finalize ISM 2.0 and plans to present the proposals to the cabinet soon, as well as a modernization plan for the Semiconductor Laboratory in Mohali. The focus is on increasing the availability of raw materials and developing the entire ecosystem, including equipment and specialized materials.
