OpenAI expands healthcare push with Color Health’s cancer copilot

OpenAI is collaborating with startup Color Health to implement artificial intelligence (AI) in cancer screening and treatment. Color Health has developed an AI assistant, called a "copilot," using OpenAI's GPT-4o model to aid doctors in creating personalized cancer screening plans and pretreatment plans for patients. The copilot uses patient data and clinical guidelines to generate virtual screening plans and assists in the preparation of pretreatment work-ups. The aim is to alleviate administrative burdens on doctors and improve patient outcomes by reducing delays in treatment. OpenAI's involvement in healthcare is part of its broader expansion strategy beyond its partnership with Microsoft, including recent deals with Apple, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Reddit, and Axel Springer.
