Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated in interviews that there is a possibility for Sam Altman, recently fired as CEO of OpenAI, to return to the company in some capacity. This comes after Altman announced his intention to join Microsoft's new AI research team. Nadella expressed openness to both options and also highlighted the need for governance changes at OpenAI. Altman's potential return may be contingent on a change in the board's composition, with only two out of three remaining members needing to agree. OpenAI employees have called for Altman's reinstatement and board resignation.
