Meta to test ads on Threads in US and Japan

Meta Platforms is testing ads on its social media platform Threads in the US and Japan, as the app surpasses 300 million monthly active users. Initially, image ads will appear in the Threads home feed for a select user percentage. Meta will extend existing ad campaigns to Threads and enable an AI-driven inventory filter for ad content sensitivity control. Launched in July 2023, Threads aims to rival X (formerly Twitter) but isn't expected to significantly impact 2025 revenue.
