Meta bans accounts that track celebrity jet travel, including for Zuckerberg

Meta Platforms recently suspended accounts on Threads and Instagram that tracked the private jet travel of high-profile individuals, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Kim Kardashian. The company cited privacy concerns and the risk of physical harm as the reason behind the suspension. This decision has sparked discussions about the power of social media platforms to prioritize privacy over publicly available information and user decisions. Similar to Musk's ban on flight-tracking accounts on Twitter, this move raises questions about transparency and arbitrary decisions made by these platforms. Jack Sweeney, who ran these accounts, expressed concerns about special treatment given to celebrities and called for more transparency in platform operations.
