IIT-M completes Phase I of placements, median salary crosses Rs 19 lakh

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has successfully completed the first phase of placements, overcoming the challenges posed by Cyclone Michaung. The institute recorded a significant rise in hiring from the core sector and a higher number of international offers compared to last year. The median salary for all offers made during Phase I exceeded Rs. 19 lakh. More than 55% of placed students came from socially and economically challenging backgrounds, and approximately 50% of the students were successfully placed. IIT Madras has invited organizations to visit the campus for the second phase of placements.

In 2024, 82 companies have raised around ₹1.23 lakh crore through QIPs so far. In 2023, 45 companies had raised approximately ₹52,350 crore through QIPs, as against ₹11,743 crore raised by 14 companies in 2022.
