Google to expand AI initiatives in India, targeting language barriers, agricultural efficiency

Google is focusing on India by introducing advanced AI tools to break down language barriers and improve agricultural practices. The company has launched Google Gemini, an AI chatbot that supports over 40 global languages, including nine Indian languages. Google is also expanding Project Vaani, providing developers with speech data in 58 languages, and introducing IndicGenBench to fine-tune language models for Indian languages. Additionally, Google is developing the Agricultural Landscape Understanding (ALU) Research API, aimed at making agricultural practices more data-driven and efficient. The ALU API is expected to enhance farm yields, access to capital, and market access for farm products.
