Google to develop AI that takes over computers: report

Google is reportedly developing an artificial intelligence technology called Project Jarvis that can take control of a web browser to perform tasks like research and shopping. The company plans to showcase this technology with its new Gemini large language model release in December. Microsoft-backed OpenAI is also working on similar technology, aiming for its models to browse the web autonomously with the help of a computer-using agent. Google, along with Anthropic, aims to take the agent concept further by creating software that directly interacts with a user's computer or browser.
