Google in last ditch effort to overturn $2.6 billion EU antitrust fine

Google is making a final attempt to overturn the 2.42 billion euro ($2.6 billion) EU antitrust fine related to its shopping service at Europe's top court. Google argued that regulators didn't demonstrate that its practices were anti-competitive. The company turned to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) after the General Court rejected its challenge to the fine in 2021. This fine was the first of three for anti-competitive practices, totaling 8.25 billion euros, Google has faced in the last decade. The CJEU is expected to rule in the coming months.
