Digital-first western fashion brand Theater has raised $1.5 million in pre-Series A funding round led by Prath Ventures along with participation from existing angel investors. The proceeds will be used to drive growth through new channels like quick commerce, expand offline presence, and accelerate design iteration and production processes, Theater said in a press release. Co-founded by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater leverages deep fashion expertise alongside robust brand-building and startup scaling capabilities to create a distinctive presence in the market. It aims to empower fashion design landscape and mass-premium fashion brands, specializing in women’s footwear, stockings, perfumes, and bags. Theater aims to transform the Indian fashion landscape through a design-centric approach and creates a large business with a differentiated offering.

The proceeds will be utilized for the next phase of growth, including the launch of its first exclusive offline store by March 2026 and expansion of its design, operations, and technology teams. Outzidr launches up to 2,000 new styles every month, or 500 every week, through its own D2C platform and leading marketplaces like Ajio, Myntra, and Nykaa Fashion. “Outzidr represents the energy of a new generation — fast-paced, fresh, and fearless,” said Nirmal Jain, Co-founder and CEO of Outzidr. “We’re building a brand that listens, learns, and reacts in real time. This fundraiser is a strong validation of our mission to become the everyday fashion choice for Gen Z women — and of the incredible team and opportunity we’re building for.” According to market research, India’s fast fashion market is currently valued at around $10 billion and is projected to surge to over $50 billion by FY 31, growing at a ~30% CAGR. In just five months, the brand claims to have gained more than 100,000 customers. It primarily competes with other notable players in this space such as NEWME, Zudio, and Style Union.

Snippets Snitch raises $40 Mn in Series B round; to enter quick commerce D2C menswear brand Snitch has raised up to $40 million in its Series B funding round led by 360 ONE Asset. Existing investors IvyCap Ventures and SWC Global participated, along with the Ravi Modi Family Office and other angel investors. Entrackr had exclusively reported the development last week. This is the second major funding round for the Bengaluru-based fashion brand, following its $13 million Series A raised in December 2023. The proceeds will be used to expand Snitch’s offline retail footprint from 55 to over 100 stores by the end of 2025, enter quick commerce, and test international markets. The company also plans to expand into new apparel and lifestyle categories. Founded in 2020 by Siddharth Dungarwal, Snitch offers trendy and affordable apparel through its own website, mobile application, and an expanding network of offline retail stores. “With 120% YoY growth, 55+ stores with strong unit economics, and strong loyal customer base, we’re stepping into a bigger league, building a world-class brand with India at its heart and agility at its core. As we gear up for global expansion and soon enter the public markets, this marks a bold step towards creating one of India’s most iconic fashion stories,” said Dungarwal. Snitch featured during the second season of Shark Tank India and raised Rs 1.5 crore against 1.5% equity from Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Amit Jain at Rs 100 crore valuation. The firm is targeting scale across India and international markets and is preparing for a public listing. For the fiscal year ending March 2024, Snitch reported a 100% year-on-year increase in its revenue to Rs 241 crore with Rs 4.39 crore profits. The company has yet to release its annual results for FY25.

Cumin Co. raises $5 Mn pre-Series A round led by Fireside Ventures Gurugram-based kitchenware startup Cumin Co. has raised $5 million (around Rs 41 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures. Existing investors Huddle Ventures and Alteria Capital also participated, along with several angel investors. Earlier in August last year, Cumin Co. had raised its first institutional funding of $1.5 million (about Rs 13.16 crore) led by Fireside Ventures along with participation from Huddle Ventures. The proceeds will be used to expand the product portfolio across cookware and kitchen essentials. It also plans to strengthen its supply chain, increase investments in R&D, and improve manufacturing and product innovation capabilities. Founded by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, Cumin Co. operates in the premium kitchenware segment and focuses on research-led product development. The brand sells cookware and kitchen essentials directly to consumers through online channels. Cumin Co. builds its products around proprietary material and coating technology under its Enviromax platform. It holds three granted patents and has five more pending, covering material science, surface coatings, and product design. Going ahead, Cumin Co. will continue to focus on controlled expansion, selective channel rollout, and improving unit economics as it scales its operations. It competes with other notable startups in this space such as Indus Valley and Palette Brand’s Ember. Indus Valley secured Rs 23.1 crore in a pre-Series A round led by DSG Ventures, while Palette Brands raised nearly Rs 17 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Rockstud Capital.

Men’s apparel brand WROGN has raised approximately Rs 75 crore (approximately $9 million) in funding from Aditya Birla Digital Fashion Ventures Ltd (ABDFVL), increasing ABDFVL’s stake in the D2C fashion brand from 17.10% to 32.84% on a fully diluted basis, as per a stock exchange filing. Earlier, in June this year, WROGN secured Rs 125 crore ($15 million) from TMRW House of Brands, an Aditya Birla Group company. This investment saw TMRW acquiring a 16% stake in WROGN, valuing the Bengaluru-based brand at around $105 million. Aditya Birla Group’s TMRW has now backed eight Indian fashion brands, including men’s casualwear brand The Indian Garage Co, casualwear Bewakoof, athleisure brand Nobero, children’s brand Nauti Nati, denim label Urbano, and casualwear brands JuneBerry and Veirdo. Founded in 2014 by siblings Anjana and Vikram Reddy, WROGN is a leading name in casual wear, offering a wide range of apparel, footwear, and accessories. Leveraging cricketer Virat Kohli’s influence, the brand has expanded its reach through exclusive brand outlets and partnerships with major e-commerce platforms. Since its inception, WROGN has raised approximately $90 million from investors like Accel, Flipkart, Virat Kohli, and Sachin Tendulkar. In November 2020, Flipkart invested an undisclosed amount in WROGN’s Series F round. Flipkart is also an investor in Hrithik Roshan’s HRX, which competes with WROGN. WROGN’s revenue from operations dropped by 29.2% to Rs 243.75 crore in FY24, down from Rs 344.3 crore in FY23. Despite implementing cost-cutting measures, the Virat Kohli-backed brand saw its losses up by 28.2%, reaching Rs 56.76 crore compared to Rs 44.26 crore in FY23, primarily due to a sharp decline in sales. According to a recent report by TMRW X Bain & Company, the fashion and lifestyle sector is India’s second-largest consumer category, valued at $110 billion, with online sales accounting for around $11 billion, or 10% of the market.
