Cumin Co. raises $5 Mn pre-Series A round led by Fireside Ventures Gurugram-based kitchenware startup Cumin Co. has raised $5 million (around Rs 41 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures. Existing investors Huddle Ventures and Alteria Capital also participated, along with several angel investors. Earlier in August last year, Cumin Co. had raised its first institutional funding of $1.5 million (about Rs 13.16 crore) led by Fireside Ventures along with participation from Huddle Ventures. The proceeds will be used to expand the product portfolio across cookware and kitchen essentials. It also plans to strengthen its supply chain, increase investments in R&D, and improve manufacturing and product innovation capabilities. Founded by Niharika Joshi and Udit Lekhi, Cumin Co. operates in the premium kitchenware segment and focuses on research-led product development. The brand sells cookware and kitchen essentials directly to consumers through online channels. Cumin Co. builds its products around proprietary material and coating technology under its Enviromax platform. It holds three granted patents and has five more pending, covering material science, surface coatings, and product design. Going ahead, Cumin Co. will continue to focus on controlled expansion, selective channel rollout, and improving unit economics as it scales its operations. It competes with other notable startups in this space such as Indus Valley and Palette Brand’s Ember. Indus Valley secured Rs 23.1 crore in a pre-Series A round led by DSG Ventures, while Palette Brands raised nearly Rs 17 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Rockstud Capital.

Gurugram-based clean-label snacking startup Troovy has raised $5 million in a Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures and Sharrp Ventures. Existing investors Spring Marketing Capital and Veltis Capital also participated in the round. Earlier in May last year, Troovy raised Rs 20 crore ($2.3 million) in its pre-Series A round led by Fireside Ventures and others. The proceeds will be used to expand distribution across e-commerce, quick commerce, and D2C channels, launch new products across clean snacking categories, and scale the business toward the Rs 100 crore revenue mark over the next few years. Founded in 2021 by Mansi Baranwal and Aditya Mukherjee, Troovy focuses on clean, kid-friendly snacks aimed at families. It operates in categories such as chips, puffs, cookies, sauces, spreads, and multi-millet milk mixes, positioned around the absence of refined sugar, maida, palm oil, preservatives, and artificial additives. Over the past five months, Troovy claims to have recorded 5X growth, driven by repeat consumption and increasing adoption among urban families. The brand follows a product development process that includes multiple rounds of testing before commercial launches. Troovy currently sells its products through online marketplaces and its own website, with plans to deepen penetration across digital channels. The brand is also looking to expand its portfolio using ingredients such as millets, dals, grains, nuts, and vegetables.

Women-focused fast fashion brand Newme has kicked off a Series B round with Rs 108.66 crore (approximately $12 million) co-led by existing investors Accel India, Fireside Ventures, and with the participation of new investor Point72 Ventures and others. Newme had secured $18 million in a Series A round led by Accel in July last year. The Newme’s board passed a special resolution to issue 3,447 Series B CCPS at an issuance price of Rs 3,15,231 per share to raise the amount as mentioned earlier, according to its regulatory filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Accel India and Fireside Ventures will each invest Rs 36.94 crore ($4 million), while Point72 Ventures will join the captable with Rs 26.38 crore ($3 million). AUM Ventures, 2am Ventures, and A, Paul SRC SPV V, LLC will contribute the remaining amount. According to Entrackr’s analysis, the D2C firm’s valuation is set to rise by about 41% to Rs 988 crore ($112 million), compared to its earlier valuation of Rs 700 crore during the Series A funding round. Founded by Shivam Tripathi, Sumit Jasoria, Himanshu Chaudhary, and Vinod Naik, the Bengaluru-based startup sells women-centric products targeting Gen Z, across both online channels and offline stores. According to its website, the company’s app has more than 7 million downloads, and it operates 16 offline outlets across cities, including Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Pune, and Hyderabad, among others. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Newme has raised over $23 million across two funding rounds, including its seed round in January 2024. Following the latest infusion, Fireside Ventures will become the largest external shareholder with a 19.27% stake, followed by Accel India at 17.06%, while new investor Point72 Ventures will hold 2.67%. The company’s co-founders will collectively retain 31.45% ownership. Financially, Newme reported Rs 48.28 crore in operating revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2024, with a loss of Rs 35.75 crore. The company has yet to disclose its FY25 financials.

Beyond Appliances raises $4 Mn in Series A round led by Fireside Ventures Smart kitchen technology company Beyond Appliances has secured $4 million in a Series A funding round led by Fireside Ventures along with participation from Dharana Capital. Prior to this, the Bengaluru-based startup raised $2 million in its seed round led by Fireside Venture in November 2024. The fresh funds will be deployed to scale its manufacturing capabilities, Beyond Appliances said in a press release. Co-founded in 2024 by Eshwar K Vikas and Rakesh Patil, Beyond Appliances allows users to access OTT apps, music, set reminders, and create grocery lists through integrated apps. The brand’s product portfolio includes Android chimneys, plug-and-play chimneys, and smart hobs & cooktops. According to the company, it is witnessing strong repeat rates and consistent month-on-month growth, with its flagship kitchen appliance range continuing to be the primary revenue driver. The company claims to have doubled its revenues post its seed round in November 2024 and now aims to strengthen its core product categories while expanding into new appliance segments, supported by its upcoming manufacturing capacity. Beyond Appliances’ products are currently available via its D2C website, on Amazon and Flipkart, and through multiple retail outlets in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The startup now plans to expand its retail footprint across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Delhi through partnerships with leading offline retailers and modern trade outlets. It competes with other notable players in this space such as Faber, Elica, and Hafele.
