Fake Chinese titanium sold to Boeing and Airbus to build planes? FAA begins prob

The FAA is investigating the use of potentially falsified titanium records in commercial jets produced by Airbus and Boeing. The titanium in question originated from a lesser-known Chinese producer and made its way into the supply chain through counterfeit documents. Spirit AeroSystems confirmed that the suspect parts were quarantined and removed from production, and more than 1,000 tests were conducted to confirm their properties. Last year, a similar scandal involving fake aircraft parts surfaced, indicating a broader issue of unauthorized parts infiltrating the aviation supply chain. Both the FAA and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency are conducting investigations.
