Smallcase runs a platform that helps brokers execute transactions in exchange-traded products. Its main source of revenue is the transaction fees charged to these brokers. Wealthtech platform Smallcase recorded over 50% year-on-year growth in the fiscal year ended March 2025, with improved unit economics, according to the data shared by the sources. Smallcase’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 106 crore in FY25 from Rs 67.4 crore in FY24, as per the documents. The platform has facilitated transactions worth Rs 1.2 lakh crore and serves a user base of over 10 million investors. Despite over 50% growth in FY25, Smallcase managed to keep a good check on its overall cost, which resulted in a reduction of its EBITDA losses to Rs 9 crore in FY25. However, the Bengaluru-based company posted a net loss of Rs 34 crore in the last fiscal year (FY25). Smallcase has secured around $120 million to date, including its $50 million Series D in March this year, which was led by Elev8 Ventures, with participation from State Street Global Advisors, Niveshaay AIF, Faering Capital, and others. Prior to this, it closed a $40 million round in 2022. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Smallcase is currently valued at $285-290 million. Peak XV holds the largest external stake at 16.2%, followed by Fearing Capital and Blume Ventures with 9.67% and 7.67%, respectively. Smallcase faces competition from platforms like INDmoney, which reported Rs 70 crore in revenue for FY24, and Wint Wealth, which posted Rs 21 crore during the same period. Other rivals include Scripbox, Dezerv, and several emerging wealthtech players.

PB Fintech, the parent company of online insurance aggregator and brokerage platform PolicyBazaar, has released its financial results for the fourth quarter of the ongoing fiscal year (Q4 FY25). The company reported a 38% growth in scale, while its year-on-year (YoY) profits increased by 2.85X during the same period. PolicyBazaar’s revenue from operations surged 38% to Rs 1,508 crore in Q4 FY25 in contrast to Rs 1,089 crore in Q4 FY24, as per the firm’s consolidated financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). For the full fiscal year (FY25), PolicyBazaar’s operating revenue increased 33% to Rs 4,977 crore in FY25 from Rs 3,738 crore in FY24. The Gurugram-based company generated the largest share (87%) of its operating revenue from insurance broker services, which rose to Rs 1,322 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 915 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full fiscal year, it accounted for 86% of the revenue at Rs 4,298 crore. Besides operating revenue, the firm also earned Rs 101 crore via interest and gains from financial assets during the quarter which took its total topline to Rs 1,609 crore in the quarter ending March 2025. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year, total income crossed the Rs 5,000 crore mark at Rs 5,385 crore. PolicyBazaar has not provided a detailed breakdown of expenses in its quarterly financial statements. However, employee benefits expenses rose by 15% YoY to Rs 508 crore. Overall, the company's total costs grew 29% to Rs 1,437 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to Rs 1,114 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year ending March 2025, the firm’s total expenses rose to Rs 5,039 crore as against Rs 3,739 crore in FY24. In the end, PolicyBazaar's net profits surged 2.85X to Rs 171 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 60 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, its net profit spiked 5.5X to Rs 353 crore in FY25 from Rs 64 crore in FY24. PolicyBazaar is currently trading at Rs 1,796 with a total market capitalization of Rs 82,500 crore.

Digital payments firm Infibeam's operating revenue grew by 29.19% during the quarter ending September 2024. Moreover, the Ahmedabad-based company’s profit also increased 16.45% in Q2 FY25. Infibeam Avenues’s revenue from operations spiked to Rs 1,016.65 crore in Q2 FY25 from Rs 786.97 crore in Q2 FY24, its unaudited consolidated financial statements from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) show. Payment business accounted for 95.7% of its total collection which increased by 31.82% to Rs 973.34 crore in Q2 FY25. Meanwhile, there was a 10.81% decline in e-commerce platform business, which fell to Rs 43.31 crore. The company recorded a total revenue of 1,020.19 crore in Q2 FY25. Infibeam operates a diversified digital platform, with a primary focus on digital payments and e-commerce solutions. The company’s total expenses for Q2 FY25 rose by 30.41% to Rs 957.1 crore in Q2 FY25. Operating expenses was the largest contributor, rising by 29.98% to Rs 882.3 crore. Employee benefits increased by 10.86% to Rs 34.5 crore, while depreciation cost grew 3.64% to Rs 17.1 crore. The company also incurred Rs 23.2 crore on other undisclosed expenses. Infibeam’s profit after tax rose 16.495 to Rs 47.4 crore in Q2 FY25 from Rs 40.69 crore in the same period last year. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at 1.62% and 7.96%, respectively. On a unit basis, the company spent Re 0.94 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in Q2 FY25. Infibeam competes with major players like Paytm, Razorpay, and PhonePe in the digital payments sector. At the end of today, its market cap stood at Rs 7,600 crore while the firm stock was trading at Rs 27.30.

The sale of its products through offline stores and websites in India and the international market was the primary source of revenue, accounting for 69% of total operating revenue, while its subsidiary, GlobalBees, contributed Rs 398 crore income for Q4 FY25. The company also made Rs 48 crore from interest income which took its overall revenue to Rs 1,979 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 1,685 crore in Q4 FY24. For the omnichannel retailer, the cost of procurement of materials accounted for 58% of the overall expenditure which increased 14% quarter-on-quarter to Rs 1,206 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 1055 crore in Q4 FY24. FirstCry employee benefits stood at Rs 229 crore in Q4 FY25 which includes Rs 82 crore as ESOP cost. Marketing, legal, rent, and technology expenses were key overheads that drove total expenditure up to Rs 2,060 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 1,737 crore in the same quarter last year. For the fiscal year ending March 2025, the company’s total expenses rose to Rs 7,992 crore. BrainBees’ loss surged by 74% to Rs 75 crore in Q4 FY25. For FY25, the firm losses stood at 215 crore in FY25, down from Rs 321 crore in FY24. (We have excluded exceptional items amounting to Rs 37 crore from the loss calculation.) BrainBees debuted on the stock exchange at Rs 446 and is now trading at 376.5 on May 26, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 19,631 crore.

Other income contributed an additional Rs 9.56 crore which drove its total income of Rs 301.95 crore for the quarter. On a quarterly basis, the firm's revenue jumped 13.46% from Rs 258 crore in Q1 FY25. Founded in 2015, Awfis provides office spaces for startups, SMEs, and large corporations, along with services such as food and beverages, IT support, and infrastructure solutions. Revenue from co-working spaces remained the largest segment that grew 43.1% to Rs 218.31 crore in Q2 FY25 from Rs 152.56 crore in Q2 FY24. The construction and fit-out projects segment brought in Rs 68.15 crore, while other services brought in Rs 5.9 crore to the overall revenue in Q2 FY25. Subcontracting cost was the largest burn which stood at Rs 56.13 crore, whereas employee benefits expenses increased to Rs 39.38 crore. Depreciation and amortization expenses grew 33.5% YoY to Rs 64 crore. Finance costs amounted to Rs 30.4 crore which pushed the firm’s total cost to Rs 287.29 crore in the September quarter. With an exceptional item income of Rs 24 crore, Awfis posted a profit after tax of Rs 38.67 crore. Awfis’ stock was listed on the NSE on May 30, opening at Rs 435 with a 13.58% premium over the issue price of Rs 383. Before Monday’s market closure, the company’s shares were trading at Rs 776.

Following a 2X jump in scale during FY23, industrial goods and services procurement platform OfBusiness continued its growth run as its revenue grew by 25.8% in the fiscal year ending March 2024. At the same time, the firm’s profit spiked by 30% and crossed the Rs 600 crore mark. OfBusiness’ revenue grew to Rs 19,296 crore in FY24 from 15,343 crore in FY23, according to the company’s consolidated financial documents reviewed by Entrackr. The sale of industrial goods (raw materials) and revenue from financial services offered to the buyers on their platforms were the primary sources of operating revenue for OfBusiness in FY24. The company also made Rs 232 crore from interest and other financial activities, tallying the overall revenue to Rs 19,529 crore in FY24. Being a goods and service procurement platform, the purchase of industrial goods and raw materials including construction materials, chemicals, and produce emerged as the largest cost centers, forming 88.5% of OfBusiness’ total expenses during FY24. In the line of scale, this cost increased by 21% to Rs 16,543 crore in FY24. The firm’s burn on employee benefits, finance, legal, conveyance, advertising, and other overheads took its overall cost up by 24.3% to Rs 18,696 crore in FY24 from Rs 15,037 crore in FY23. Note: OfBusiness’ ESOP-related expenses for this year stood at Rs 32 Cr in FY24 which is similar to last year. The decent growth in scale and controlled expenditure helped OfBusiness to post a 30.2% increase in its profits to Rs 603 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to 12.33% and 7.44% respectively. On a unit level, OfBusiness spent Rs 0.97 to earn a rupee in FY24. According to consolidated financial statements reviewed by Entrackr, Oxyzo’s operating revenue rose to Rs 1,207 crore in FY25, up from Rs 903 crore in FY24. Following a 58% year-on-year growth in FY24, B2B fintech unicorn Oxyzo Financial Services continued its strong momentum in FY25, recording a 33.7% YoY increase in revenue for the fiscal year ended March 2025. The company also reported a 16.5% rise in profit during the same period. Oxyzo, the lending arm of the industrial goods and services procurement platform OfBusiness, offers credit solutions and loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and startups. Interest income from loan disbursements contributed 95% of its total operating revenue, which rose to Rs 1,141 crore in FY25. The remaining revenue came from fees and commissions. As a lending-focused company, finance costs emerged as the largest expense for Oxyzo, accounting for 58% of its total spending. These costs climbed to Rs 439 crore in FY25, in line with the company's expanding scale. Oxyzo spent Rs 143 crore on employee benefits. Its legal, impairment, administrative, and other operational expenses contributed to a total expenditure of Rs 755 crore in FY25, up from Rs 514 crore in FY24. The combination of topline growth and controlled cost mechanism helped the company post a 16.5% growth in profits, which rose to Rs 339 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 291 crore in the previous fiscal year. Oxyzo raised approximately $200 million in 2022, achieving unicorn status following its Series A round led by Alpha Wave and Tiger Global. The company also plans to raise a fresh round of equity in the second half of FY26 in the range of $100-150 million. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the OFB group, including its promoters, holds a 74.5% stake, while Alpha Wave is the largest external investor with a 7.4% share, followed by Tiger Global. Its parent OfBusiness is also gearing up for a $1 billion IPO, expected to include a combination of a fresh issue and an offer for sale.

Zomato’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 4,206 crore in Q1 FY25 as compared to Rs 3,562 crore in Q4 FY24, its consolidated financial results sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. Zomato’s food and delivery biz accounted for 46.17% of the total collection in Q1 FY25 which grew 11.7% to Rs 1,942 crore in Q1 FY25. The revenue from Hyperpure supplies (B2B) and quick commerce vertical (Blinkit) grew 27.4% and 22.5% to Rs 1,212 crore and Rs 942 crore, respectively. Income from “going-out” and other non-operating income took Zomato Group’s overall revenue to Rs 4,442 crore in Q1 FY25. Being a food tech major, the cost for delivery and related charges formed 31.6% of the overall expenditure which increased 18.8% to Rs 1,328 crore in Q1 FY25. The firm’s spending on procurement, employee benefits, advertising, and marketing pushed its overall expenditure to Rs crore 4,203 in Q1FY25 from Rs 3,636 crore in Q4FY24. A stellar growth in scale allowed Zomato to record a 44.6% spike in its profits to Rs 253 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 175 crore in Q4 FY24. On a unit level, the company spent Rs 0.99 to earn a rupee in Q1 FY25. With the consistent gain in its market cap, the food tech firm also rewarded its employees with an additional ESOP plan of $458 million. Zomato’s initial public offering opened at Rs 115, a 51% increase from its price band of Rs 76. The company’s current share price is Rs 237.9 (as of 03.40 PM), with a total market capitalization of over $25 billion, which led to Deepinder Goyal becoming a billionaire last month.

Exclusive: Snapmint crosses Rs 150 Cr revenue threshold in FY25, turns profitable Buy now, pay later (BNPL) startup Snapmint has made a strong comeback in FY25, recording nearly 80% year-on-year revenue growth after a flat performance in FY24. The company also turned profitable during the year, according to two sources and documents reviewed by Entrackr. Snapmint’s revenue from operations soared to Rs 158.5 crore in FY25 from Rs 88.5 crore in FY24, as per the documents. Founded in 2017 by Nalin Agrawal, Anil Gelra, and Abhineet Sawa, Snapmint offers credit solutions for purchases in categories like electronics, health, and home essentials. Its digital platform, Nimbus, helps merchants boost sales and reach with customized credit options. Interest income received from granting on services was the primary source of revenue, while commissions, subvention, discount from partners, and processing fees were other allied services for Snapmint. According to the sources, Snapmint also turned black with a profit after tax of Rs 15 crore, a reversal from a loss of Rs 33.6 crore in FY24. Queries sent to Snapmint did not elicit a response. Their comments will be added if and when they respond. The company has also been in talks to raise fresh funding to the tune of $40 million, with General Atlantic likely to lead the round at a valuation of around $150-160 million. Entrackr exclusively reported this development last month. According to the startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, the company has raised around $60 million to date, including its $18 million in a mix of debt and equity led by Prashasta Seth (Prudent Investment Manager), Perpetuity Ventures, and Pegasus Fininvest. With offerings that go beyond credit cards, using credit scores instead to perform a credit check and provide limits, Snapmint certainly fills a use case that has become more relevant after the advent of UPI for many users. However, Snapmint faces competition from several BNPL players, including Axio, which was recently acquired by Amazon, Fibe (formerly EarlySalary), which raised $90 million from TR Capital, and Amara Capital. Other competitors include Simpl, Layup, DMI Group-owned ZestMoney, and a few others. With investors no longer as willing to burn money to acquire customers or invest in community building, all the firms, especially those not affiliated to a large ecom platform, face the difficult challenge of access and recognition. With Fibe having raised significant capital, the journey ahead for Snapmint is tougher, but certainly not impossible. The best interest of these apps will be served by a tougher crackdown on unauthorized and illegal lending apps that will clear out the market and bring in a fresh, if smaller segment of new customers. A case for cooperation if there ever was one.
