Delta sues cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike over tech outage that canceled flights

Delta Air Lines has filed a lawsuit against cybersecurity company CrowdStrike, alleging that the company's negligence led to a global technology outage that resulted in thousands of flight cancellations in July. Delta is seeking compensation and punitive damages for the outage, which occurred due to a faulty update sent to Microsoft computers. The airline claims that CrowdStrike failed to properly test the update before deploying it worldwide. The US Department of Transportation is investigating Delta's slow recovery from the outage and complaints about their customer service during the incident. CrowdStrike has responded by stating that Delta's claims are based on misinformation and a lack of understanding of cybersecurity.
