Defense robotics startup Sharang Shakti has secured Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round co-led by AUM Ventures and Venture Highway along with participation from the JK Groupโ€™s Family office and other angel investors. The proceeds will be used for product development and expanding the team, Sharang Shakti said in a press release. Co-founded in 2023 by Karan Goyal, Chirag Singla, Jitendra Singh, Gaurav Kumar and Rishabh Choudhary, .Sharang Shakti is a security robotics company which focuses on innovating in airspace surveillance and airborne threat mitigation. The company is currently working on an anti-drone system designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones, marking the first of several products in its development pipeline. According to market research, the global Anduril industry is valued at $14 billion. The Gurugram-based company aims to focus on building a comprehensive technology stack which will enable the development of a wide range of robotic systems for defense applications and to build next-gen Lockheed Martin from India. Earlier this month, Indusbridge Ventures , a defense technology-focused company, joined forces with US-based deep-tech venture builder FedTech to introduce the โ€˜I2A Launchpadโ€™ program. The initiative aims to support Indian dual-use startups.

Deepinder Goyalโ€™s LAT Aerospace acquires Sharang Shakti Hybrid-electric regional aircraft maker LAT Aerospace has acquired Gurugram-based defence robotics startup Sharang Shakti, for an undisclosed amount. โ€œThis is our first move toward building indigenous defence capabilities alongside our long-term mission of developing next-generation civil aviation platforms from India,โ€ Goyal said in a LinkedIn post announcing the acquisition. Goyal added that civil aviation and defence are often viewed as separate sectors but the core technology stack is shared across autonomy, perception, sensing, navigation, guidance, and control systems. Goyal co-founded LAT Aerospace in early 2025 and has invested $20 million so far. The company is also in talks to raise another $50 million, according to media reports. Founded in 2023 by Karan Goyal, Chirag Singla, Gaurav Kumar, Jitendra Singh, and Rishabh Choudhary, Sharang Shakti develops anti-drone and aerial threat mitigation systems, including drone detection radar and interceptor technologies. With this acquisition, LAT Aerospace plans to strengthen its capabilities in autonomous systems, defence electronics, and aerospace-grade control technologies. LAT Aerospace is building hybrid-electric regional aircraft and vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) platforms aimed at improving regional air mobility. The company had announced its launch in 2024.
