According to the company, Darwinbox’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 533.9 crore in FY25 from Rs 334 crore in FY24. International markets contributed 63% of new sales, as overseas revenue soared 83% YoY, representing the second consecutive year of over 80% growth. Darwinbox added that its U.S. operations launched two years ago and are beginning to gain meaningful traction, alongside strong adoption in SEA and MENA regions, according to the release. When it comes to the bottom line, the company’s adjusted net loss improved by 12% over FY24, excluding non-cash ESOP expenses. Excluding investments in the U.S. business, the adjusted net loss narrowed 42% year-on-year, as per the press release. Hyderabad-based Darwinbox offers a cloud-based HR management platform covering recruitment, payroll, engagement, talent, and analytics. The firm said most of its revenue comes from Southeast Asia and India. It has over 1,016 enterprise customers globally. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Darwinbox has so far raised over $290 million across multiple funding rounds, including its $140 million in March co-led by Partners Group and KKR. The company also recently granted $21 million in ESOPs to its employees, a development exclusively reported by Entrackr. This follows its Rs 86 crore ($10 million) ESOP buyback in June this year.

The Mumbai-based firm narrowed its losses by over 83% during the same period. Compared to FY23, the firm’s operating scale grew by 12% to Rs 3,733 crore, according to its annual financial statement sourced from Singapore. Eruditus follows a financial year that runs from July to June. The firm appears to be ahead of the leading edtechs, with revenue nearly 1.8 times that of PhysicsWallah and more than double that of upGrad. PhysicsWallah reported Rs 2,015 crore revenue in FY24 whereas upGrad registered Rs 1,487 crore revenue in the same period. Eruditus offers education across more than 80 countries to over a million learners. It partners with over 80 universities across the United States, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, India, and China. The firm didn’t offer revenue break-up across geographies. The company deferred recognition of Rs 800 crore ($96 million) in collected revenue to the last fiscal year (FY25). Eruditus made progress in controlling its expenses as its marketing expenses dipped 18.85% year-on-year to Rs 1,007 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,241 crore in FY23. Other operating expenses were down by 32.16% year-on-year to Rs 1,045 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,541 crore in FY23. The cost optimizations led to a sharp improvement in the company’s bottom line. Eruditus narrowed its adjusted EBITDA losses by 83.45% to Rs 69 crore ($8.3 million) in FY24 from Rs 417 crore ($50 million) in FY23. With backing from investors such as TPG, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Prosus Ventures, Accel, and Peak XV, Eruditus has the capital reserve to expand its presence and offerings across markets. In October 2024, it raised $150 million in the second-largest edtech deal of the year, after PhysicsWallah’s $210 million funding. With revenue approaching $500 million and an 83% reduction in losses, the company shows a path toward sustainable growth in the edtech industry. Heading into FY25 with deferred revenue, Eruditus is on track to achieve profitability while building on its revenue base.

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company reported a 29% year-on-year jump in its operating revenue compared to Q4 FY24. Ather’s revenue from operations increased by 29% to Rs 676 crore in Q4 FY25, from Rs 523 crore in Q4 FY24, according to its consolidated quarterly report sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). For the full fiscal year (FY25), Ather Energy’s operating revenue increased 29% to Rs 2,255 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,754 crore in FY24. The company’s cost of materials, driven primarily by battery and component procurement, increased by nearly 16% to Rs 564 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 488 crore in the same period last year. Employee benefit expenses saw a decline of 29% YoY to Rs 109 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to Rs 154 crore in Q4 FY24. Depreciation and amortization costs rose 18% to Rs 45 crore, while other operational costs jumped nearly 47% to Rs 204 crore. Overall, Ather’s total expenditure grew 13% to Rs 922 crore in Q4 FY25, up from Rs 819 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year ending March 2025, total expenses rose to Rs 3,117 crore as against Rs 2,674 crore in FY24. As a result, the company’s net losses reduced by 17% to Rs 234 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 283 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, its net losses came down 23% to Rs 812 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,060 crore in FY24. Ather Energy made its stock market debut on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE—2.18% above its issue price of Rs 321. However, the stock closed the day at Rs 300. On Monday, it rose 2.8% to trade at Rs 308.7 before market close, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 11,497 crore ($1.34 billion). In contrast, revenue from its own manufactured products, which made up 33.78% of the total, declined 16% to Rs 225.72 crore during the fiscal year. Paper Boat also earned a non-operating income of Rs 14.2 crore, mainly from interest on bank deposits, taking its total income to Rs 682.44 crore. On the expense side, the cost of materials remained the largest component, which accounted for 62% of total expenses at Rs 444 crore in FY25. Employee benefit expenses rose 32% to Rs 90.35 crore, while selling and distribution costs stood at Rs 58.47 crore, and depreciation, travel, and other overheads pushed overall expenses to Rs 716.53 crore. The Peak XV-backed company cut its losses by 24% to Rs 48.25 crore in FY25, with ROCE at -14% and EBITDA margin at -3.86%. On a unit basis, it spent Rs 1.07 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY25. As of March 2025, the company’s current assets stood at Rs 276.17 crore, including cash and bank balances of Rs 42.39 crore. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Paperboat has raised $143 million to date from investors including GIC, Peak XV, Sofina Ventures, and A91 Partners. GIC holds a 25% stake in the company, while Sofina and Peak XV each own over 18%.

The company said it diagnosed over 2.5 million cases last fiscal and continues to focus on expanding in underserved regions, with more than 70% of its testing volumes now coming from Tier II cities and beyond. On the profitability front, Redcliffe reported a gross margin of 70% in FY25 and is aiming to expand it to 74% in FY26. It has also set a revenue target of Rs 560 crore for the ongoing fiscal through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. “We are transforming lives and making diagnostics a first-line solution for millions who were previously underserved,” said Kandoi. The company plans to expand its presence to over 300 cities with 150 labs by FY28. According to startup data platform TheKredible, Redcliffe has raised $113 million to date, including a $42 million Series C round led by LeapFrog. It also acquired Bengaluru-based Celara Diagnostics in a $7 million deal. Redcliffe competes with players like PharmEasy-owned Thyrocare, Tata 1mg, and Healthians.

ZingHR offers staffing and talent acquisition services across various sectors, including BFSI, retail, and IT. The company generates its revenue exclusively from the sale of subscription-based software. Zing HR’s employee benefits remained the largest cost component, accounting for 53% of total expenses. To the tune of scale, this cost remained stable at Rs 80 crore in FY25 as compared to Rs 81 crore in FY24. Among other major expenses, server and data security charges rose 42% to Rs 17 crore, while legal and professional fees nearly doubled to Rs 17 crore. Product maintenance charges grew 22% to Rs 11 crore, and rent expenses increased by 33% to Rs 4 crore. Overall, the company’s total expense rose 13% to Rs 150 crore in FY25 from Rs 133 crore in FY24. With the help of revenue growth, the company managed to achieve profitability. ZingHR posted a profit of Rs 1 crore in FY25 in contrast to a loss of Rs 7 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to 1.21% and 0.80% respectively. On a unit basis, ZingHR spent Re 1 to earn a rupee of revenue during the year, an improvement from Rs 1.07 in FY24. The company’s total assets grew to Rs 80 crore in FY25, from Rs 71 crore in the preceding year, while its current assets were valued at Rs 58 crore. Cash and bank balances stood at Rs 8 crore as of March 2025. ZingHR has raised $14 million in funding to date, with Tata Capital as its lead investor, holding a 35.82% stake. Competing in the same space as ZingHR, Darwinbox’s total revenue grew to Rs 534 crore in FY25 from Rs 334 crore in FY24 as 63% of the company’s revenue comes from international markets. The company’s adjusted net loss improved by 7% over FY24 in the same period.

The company significantly narrowed its losses during the same period. ElasticRun’s gross revenue (GMV) increased 9% to Rs 2,653 crore in FY25, up from Rs 2,435 crore in FY24, according to its consolidated financial statements sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). ElasticRun generates revenue by providing a distribution network that allows kirana stores to access branded goods. The company leverages logistics and technology to streamline distribution, primarily in rural and semi-urban areas, though its footprint has spread to key cities as well now. Income from traded goods, which forms 82% of the operating revenue, grew 7.4% to Rs 2,172 crore in FY25. Income from services surged 17.5% to Rs 477 crore in FY25. Including other income, the company’s total income stood at Rs 2,766 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 2,545 crore in the previous fiscal. On the expense side, cost of materials was ElasticRun’s largest expense, accounting for 73% of the total expense. To the tune of scale, this cost increased 5.1% to Rs 2,118 crore in FY25. Employee benefit expenses declined 17.2% to Rs 207 crore. Freight, handling and servicing costs rose modestly by 4.8% to Rs 457 crore in FY25. Overall, the company’s total expenses rose marginally by 0.2% to Rs 2,911 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 2,904 crore in FY24. The optimization of costs and improvement in high-margin service revenue enabled ElasticRun to narrow its losses by 60% to Rs 145 crore in FY25 from Rs 360 crore in FY24. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin improved to -16.96% and -8.44% respectively. On a unit basis, ElasticRun spent Rs 1.10 to earn a rupee during the year, improving from Rs 1.19 in FY24. The company recorded cash and bank balances of Rs 643 crore, while its current assets stood at Rs 1,566 crore and total assets at Rs 1,659 crore in FY25. According to TheKredible, ElasticRun has raised a total of $461 million of funding till date, having Prosus and Avataar Ventures as its lead investors who own 21.36% and 18.68% of the company respectively.
