Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company reported a 29% year-on-year jump in its operating revenue compared to Q4 FY24. Ather’s revenue from operations increased by 29% to Rs 676 crore in Q4 FY25, from Rs 523 crore in Q4 FY24, according to its consolidated quarterly report sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). For the full fiscal year (FY25), Ather Energy’s operating revenue increased 29% to Rs 2,255 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,754 crore in FY24. The company’s cost of materials, driven primarily by battery and component procurement, increased by nearly 16% to Rs 564 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 488 crore in the same period last year. Employee benefit expenses saw a decline of 29% YoY to Rs 109 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to Rs 154 crore in Q4 FY24. Depreciation and amortization costs rose 18% to Rs 45 crore, while other operational costs jumped nearly 47% to Rs 204 crore. Overall, Ather’s total expenditure grew 13% to Rs 922 crore in Q4 FY25, up from Rs 819 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year ending March 2025, total expenses rose to Rs 3,117 crore as against Rs 2,674 crore in FY24. As a result, the company’s net losses reduced by 17% to Rs 234 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 283 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, its net losses came down 23% to Rs 812 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,060 crore in FY24. Ather Energy made its stock market debut on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE—2.18% above its issue price of Rs 321. However, the stock closed the day at Rs 300. On Monday, it rose 2.8% to trade at Rs 308.7 before market close, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 11,497 crore ($1.34 billion). Ather's competitor Ola Electric, which saw a nearly 20% decline in operating revenue during Q3 FY25, has yet to file Q4 results.

Other major expenses included employee benefits, advertising, and technical support, pushing the total quarterly burn to Rs 1,598 crore. For the full fiscal year ending March 2025, total expenses rose to Rs 7,185 crore. A higher decline in sales caused Ola Electric's losses to rise by 106% in Q4 FY25, reaching Rs 862 crore compared to Rs 418 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q4 FY24). For FY25, the firm’s losses stood at Rs 2,276 crore in FY25, up from Rs 1,584 crore in FY24. Recently, Ola Electric Mobility has approved a plan to raise up to Rs 1,700 crore through debt instruments. The Bhavish Aggarwal-led company secured the second position in the electric two-wheeler segment in April, with TVS Motor emerging as the market leader. For the first time, Ather Energy has surpassed Ola Electric in quarterly revenue. In Q4 FY25, Ather reported an operating revenue of Rs 676 crore, ahead of Ola Electric’s Rs 611 crore. According to Paytm’s consolidated quarterly report filed with the National Stock Exchange, its revenue from operations declined by 16% year-on-year from Rs 2,267 crore in Q4 FY24 to Rs 1,911 crore in Q4 FY25. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year, the Noida-based firm’s revenue fell 31% to Rs 6,900 crore in the fiscal year ending March 2025 from Rs 9,977 crore in FY24. Paytm has not disclosed its revenue breakup. The company also added Rs 224 crore from other non-operating sources, bringing its overall revenue to Rs 2,135 crore in Q4 FY25. According to the company, its Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) for the quarter stood at Rs 5.1 Lakh crore, while its average monthly transacting users (MTUs) increased to 7.2 crore in the previous quarter. For the fintech firm, its employee benefits remained the largest cost center, accounting for 35% of the overall cost, which decreased by 32% to Rs 748 crore in Q4 FY25. Its payment processing charges reduced by 27% to Rs 52 crore, and marketing expenses increased by 10% to Rs 142 crore in Q4 FY25. Software, communication, legal, cashback, and other overheads took the total expenditure to Rs 2,155 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 2,691 crore in Q4 FY24. Paytm reduced its losses by 96% to Rs 23 crore in Q4 FY25, down from Rs 536 crore in Q4 FY24. This figure excludes a one-time cost of Rs 522 crore, which includes Rs 492 crore in ESOP expenses and Rs 17 crore in transaction costs related to the sale of its movie ticketing business. As of May 6, Paytm’s share price fell over 6% to Rs 816 with the total market capitalization standing at Rs 52,082 crore.

Overall, Swiggy’s total expenses for the quarter increased 53% to Rs 5,609 crore from Rs 3,668 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal-on-fiscal year basis, its total expenses increased to Rs 18,725 crore in the quarter ending March 2025 from Rs 13,947 crore in FY24. The 53% growth in expenditure led losses to increase by 95% to Rs 1,081 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 555 crore in Q4 FY24. The Mumbai-based company operates in three segments: Consumer, Remarketing, and Classifieds. Income from the consumer segment formed 37% of the total operating revenue which increased to Rs 63 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 49 crore in Q4 FY24. Income from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 59 crore and Rs 47 crore, respectively, in the fourth quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. During the full fiscal year (FY25), income from the consumer segment stood at Rs 238 crore, whereas collection from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 212 crore and Rs 192 crore, respectively. On the expense front, employee benefits expenses formed 52% of the overall spending which went up a modest 6% to Rs 71 crore during the period. Including other costs, CarTrade’s overall expenses increased 4% to Rs 136 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 131 crore during Q4 FY24. On a fiscal-on-fiscal year basis, its overall expenses increased to Rs 543 crore in the last fiscal year from Rs 457 crore in FY24. The decent growth and controlled spending enabled CarTrade to double its net profit to Rs 46 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 23 crore in Q4 FY24. Ixigo has not provided a detailed breakdown of expenses in its quarterly financial statements. However, employee benefits expenses rose by 31% YoY to Rs 46 crore. Overall, the company's total costs grew 73% to Rs 263 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to Rs 152 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year ending March 2025, the firm’s total expenses rose to Rs 846 crore as against Rs 628 crore in FY24. In the end, Ixigo's net profits surged 2.4X to Rs 17 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 7 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, its net profit decreased 18% to Rs 60 crore in FY25 from Rs 73 crore in FY24. On the profitability front, Redcliffe reported a gross margin of 70% in FY25 and is aiming to expand it to 74% in FY26. It has also set a revenue target of Rs 560 crore for the ongoing fiscal through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. “We are transforming lives and making diagnostics a first-line solution for millions who were previously underserved,” said Kandoi. The company plans to expand its presence to over 300 cities with 150 labs by FY28. According to startup data platform TheKredible, Redcliffe has raised $113 million to date, including a $42 million Series C round led by LeapFrog. It also acquired Bengaluru-based Celara Diagnostics in a $7 million deal. Redcliffe competes with players like PharmEasy-owned Thyrocare, Tata 1mg, and Healthians.

Looking at the expenses, the employee benefit cost accounted for 35% of the overall expenditure which fell 74% year-on-year to Rs 33 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 128 crore in Q4 FY24. Depreciation and other operating expenses were key overheads that drove total expenditure to Rs 95 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 187 crore in the same quarter last year. For the fiscal year ending March 2025, the firm’s total expenses fell to Rs 371 crore as compared to Rs 483 crore in FY24. Blackbuck booked profit before tax of Rs 41 crore in Q4 FY25, as compared to a loss of Rs 87 crore in Q4 FY24. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year ended March 2025, the company remained at a loss of Rs 283 crore (before tax), 69% more than Rs 167 crore in FY24. Blackbuck debuted on the stock exchange at Rs 208.90 and is now trading at Rs 459 on May 27, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 8,180 crore.
