Deep Algorithm Solutions, a cybersecurity and AI startup focused on fraud prevention in digital financial ecosystems, has raised Rs 10.8 crore (around $1.25 million) in a seed funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures, with participation from angel investors. The funding will be used to expand its engineering and threat intelligence teams, scale GTM efforts in India and Southeast Asia, and deepen platform integrations with systems like Azure AD and Okta. Founded in 2021, Deep Algorithm operates on a B2B model, offering enterprise-grade security products such as adapIDAI, an adaptive behavioral intelligence identity engine, and BotShield, a tool designed for zero-day threat prevention, DDOS mitigation, and runtime application protection. The startup provides continuous authentication and fraud analytics tailored for BFSI and other high-risk digital ecosystems. According to the Mumbai-based firm, it has completed live deployments at a major private bank, a government organization, and a private hospital. It also holds a government-issued patent and has filed an international patent. Deep Algorithm is now expanding into BFSI hubs like Mumbai and Bengaluru, and exploring partnerships in Kenya, South Africa, and the UAE. It is also building a SaaS model and analytics dashboards for mid-market clients and risk teams.

Snippets Astrophel Aerospace raises Rs 6.84 Cr in pre-seed round Deep-tech space startup Astrophel Aerospace has raised Rs 6.84 crore (around $800K) in a pre-seed funding round from a group of angel investors and venture firms. The Pune-based startup will use the funds to build a prototype of its reusable semi-cryogenic launch vehicle and to expand in-house R&D efforts focused on building advanced missile-grade guidance and propulsion systems. Founded in 2022 by Suyash Bafna, Astrophel Aerospace is building cost-effective, reusable launch vehicles specifically tailored for small satellites. It operates on a vertically integrated model designing, engineering, and testing propulsion systems in-house. The firm’s Astra C1 series rockets are powered by in-house developed semi-cryogenic engines and built using a combination of 3D printing and modular assembly. Astrophel claims to be among a limited number of Indian private companies to have successfully test-fired a semi-cryogenic engine, and achieved this with just Rs 6 lakh in internal resources and no external funding before this round. It is now aiming for a working, reusable prototype within the next 2–3 years. The startup is building its flagship Potentia C1U engine using modular design and manufacturing principles adapted from the automotive sector. Astrophel has also signed an MoU with ISRO to support co-development and testing. In India, its key competitors include Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos, Bellatrix Aerospace and Pixxel among others.

Vimano raises Rs 25 Cr in seed round led by Ankur Capital Nanotechnology startup Vimano has raised Rs 25 crore (around $3 million) in its seed round led by Ankur Capital. This is the first investment from Ankur Capital’s new third fund. The proceeds will be used to help them grow their team, start pilot projects, and set up manufacturing. Started in 2019 by Murari Ramkumar and Dr. Nagesh Kini, Vimano makes special membranes used in energy systems like redox flow batteries, fuel cells, and green hydrogen production. These membranes help store and use energy more efficiently. Its technology aims to reduce the cost of green hydrogen and make long-term energy storage cheaper. Vimano works on clean energy problems by making special materials that help electricity flow better. Its membrane technology can be changed to fit different uses, making it more useful and powerful. These membranes also waste less energy and last longer than many others available today. The startup is working with partners in the energy space to test and use its tech in real-world projects. According to Vimano, it aspires to speed up the shift to green energy and support industries looking for better ways to store and use clean power. In August last year, Ankur Capital had received commitments from two of its existing Limited Partners into its third fund. Since its inception, the VC firm has been backing deep technology innovations companies such as Captain Fresh, String Bio, Vegrow, Offgrid Energy Lab, BigHaat, Cropin, and Niramai.
