Climate-tech startup Varaha raises $8.7 million in funding round led by RTP Global

Varaha, a climatetech startup that helps offset greenhouse gas emissions, has raised $8.7 million in its latest funding round. Led by RTP Global, the round also saw participation from investors Omnivore, Orios Venture Partners, and Norinchukin Bank. Varaha plans to use the funds to enhance its technology and science capabilities, expand its team, and grow its supply chain. Additionally, the company aims to enter new markets in East Africa and Southeast Asia. Varaha works with farmers and NGOs to reduce carbon emissions in agriculture and assists companies in gaining carbon credits. It has targeted the generation of 230,000 carbon credits this year and plans to expand its presence to six new locations.
