Bits & Bytes: Meta beats lawsuit over Apple privacy

Facebook, now known as Meta Platforms, has won the dismissal of a lawsuit accusing the company of defrauding shareholders by hiding how changes to Apple's privacy settings would impact advertising on Facebook and Instagram. The court also rejected claims that Meta concealed COO Sheryl Sandberg's personal use of company resources. Meanwhile, several tech companies, including Meta and Spotify, criticized the European Union for its inconsistent decision-making on data privacy and AI, arguing that it could hinder Europe's competitiveness. Microsoft and BlackRock have formed an alliance to raise up to $100 billion for AI data centers, and Google is urging a London tribunal to dismiss a mass lawsuit accusing the company of abusing its dominance in the online search market.
