Battery Smart posts Rs 250 Cr revenue in FY25 The Gurugram-based company recorded a 52% increase in its revenue from operations to Rs 249 crore during the fiscal year ending March 2025, according to the company's financial statements sourced from RoC. The growth came on the back of expanding adoption of its battery-as-a-service model. Founded in 2019 by Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka, Battery Smart has scaled to over 1,600 swapping stations across more than 50 cities, facilitating around 90 million cumulative swaps for nearly 90,000 drivers. The company reported a total revenue of Rs 279 crore in FY25, a 49% jump from Rs 187 crore in FY24. This figure includes other income of Rs 30 crore, which contributed to the overall growth during the fiscal. On the expense front, the company’s operating costs spiked 53% to Rs 306 crore in FY25 against Rs 200 crore in FY24. The jump in expenses was driven by network expansion, higher workforce costs, and technology infrastructure spend. Despite the mounting expenditure, Battery Smart’s release said it recently achieved operating break-even and turned EBITDA positive. The company spent Rs 1.22 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY25. The narrowing gap indicates better cost efficiency as the business scales. Battery Smart, which has raised about $192 million to date from investors including Tiger Global, Blume Ventures, and Ecosystem Integrity Fund. With strong market adoption, a growing network, and early signs of operating profitability, Battery Smart appears better placed to capture the electric two- and three-wheeler battery swapping market. The challenge will be to maintain growth momentum while containing expenses and delivering sustainable unit economics.

Fintech firm Paytm announced its financial results for the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Q3 FY25) on Monday. The Noida-based company reported revenue of Rs 1,828 crore and a net loss of Rs 208 crore for the period. According to Paytm’s unaudited consolidated quarterly report filed with the National Stock Exchange, its revenue from operations declined by 35.9% year-on-year from Rs 2,850 crore in Q3 FY24 to Rs 1,828 crore in Q3 FY25. However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, the firm recorded a 10% increase in revenue compared to Q2 FY25 (the preceding quarter). Income from payment service revenue accounted for 55% of the total operating revenue which stood at Rs 1,003 crore in Q3 FY25 while the revenue from financial and marketing services were recorded at Rs 502 crore and Rs 267 crore in the same period. The company also added Rs 189 crore from other non-operating sources, bringing its overall revenue to Rs 2016.5 crore in Q3 FY25. For the fintech firm, its employee benefits remained the largest cost center accounting for 34% of the overall cost which decreased by 36% to Rs 756 crore in Q3 FY25. This includes Rs 182 crore as ESOP cost (non-cash). Its payment processing charges and marketing costs were reduced by 42% and 48.7% to Rs 570 crore and Rs 141 crore respectively in Q3 FY25 from Rs 982 crore and Rs 275 crore in Q3 FY24. Software, communication, legal, cashback, and other overheads took the total expenditure to Rs 2,220 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 3,216 crore in Q3 FY24. A reduction across all overhead departments enabled Paytm to narrow its losses by 6.3% to Rs 208 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 222 crore in Q3 FY24.

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter of FY25. The company reported a 29% year-on-year jump in its operating revenue compared to Q4 FY24. Ather’s revenue from operations increased by 29% to Rs 676 crore in Q4 FY25, from Rs 523 crore in Q4 FY24, according to its consolidated quarterly report sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE). For the full fiscal year (FY25), Ather Energy’s operating revenue increased 29% to Rs 2,255 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,754 crore in FY24. The company’s cost of materials, driven primarily by battery and component procurement, increased by nearly 16% to Rs 564 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 488 crore in the same period last year. Employee benefit expenses saw a decline of 29% YoY to Rs 109 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to Rs 154 crore in Q4 FY24. Depreciation and amortization costs rose 18% to Rs 45 crore, while other operational costs jumped nearly 47% to Rs 204 crore. Overall, Ather’s total expenditure grew 13% to Rs 922 crore in Q4 FY25, up from Rs 819 crore in Q4 FY24. For the full financial year ending March 2025, total expenses rose to Rs 3,117 crore as against Rs 2,674 crore in FY24. As a result, the company’s net losses reduced by 17% to Rs 234 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 283 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal basis, its net losses came down 23% to Rs 812 crore in FY25 from Rs 1,060 crore in FY24. Ather Energy made its stock market debut on May 6, 2025, listing at Rs 328 per share on the NSE—2.18% above its issue price of Rs 321. However, the stock closed the day at Rs 300. On Monday, it rose 2.8% to trade at Rs 308.7 before market close, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 11,497 crore ($1.34 billion). Ather's competitor Ola Electric, which saw a nearly 20% decline in operating revenue during Q3 FY25, has yet to file Q4 results.

E-sports accounted for 41.5% (Rs 216 crore) of the company’s total operating revenue, while the gaming segment held a 30% share (Rs 156 crore), followed by ad tech, which contributed 28% (Rs 148 crore). Nazara also earned Rs 18 crore from interest and gains on financial assets during the quarter, bringing its overall revenue to Rs 539 crore. However, the company posted a 40.8% YoY increase in its total income to Rs 1,715 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 1,218 crore in FY24. On the line of scale, Nazara’s total expenses surged by 85.3% to Rs 528 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 285 crore in the same quarter last year. Content and commission costs together stood at Rs 186 crore, while employee benefit expenses rose to Rs 80 crore. Notably, marketing expenses saw a sharp 3.5X jump, reaching Rs 151 crore in Q4 FY25. Despite a 95% year-on-year revenue growth in Q4, the company’s profit remained flat at Rs 4 crore in Q4 FY25. For the full fiscal year, its net profit declined to Rs 51 crore in FY25 from Rs 74.7 crore in FY24. Last week, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) also approved the acquisition of a majority stake and control over Nazara Technologies Limited by Axana Estates LLP, Plutus Wealth Management LLP, and Junomoneta Finsol Private Limited. Nazara is currently trading at Rs 1,270 (as of 03.41 PM) with a total market capitalization of Rs 11,127 crore (approximately $1.3 billion).

The firm made 38.3% of its total operating revenue (Rs 2,072 crore) via the food ordering and delivery business. Collections from its Hyperpure supplies (B2B business) increased 13.4% to Rs 1,671 crore during the same period while the quick commerce vertical (Blinkit) contributed Rs 1,399 crore to the group’s coffers. The remaining income came from the ‘Going-out’ segment and other operating activities during the quarter ending December 2024. Blinkit’s revenue ramped up over 117% YoY from Rs 644 crore generated in Q3 FY24. Zomato also earned Rs 252 crore as non-operating income (mainly from interest and gains on financial assets) in Q3 FY25. As a result, its overall revenue reached Rs 5,657 crore during the period. Coming to expenses, delivery and related charges accounted for 26% in Q3 which registered at Rs 1,450 crore. The purchase of stock (after adjustment of changes in inventories) inclined to Rs 1,500 crore, while employee benefits cost was at Rs 689 crore during the quarter. Zomato also spent Rs 521 crore on and promotions, akin to which its total expenditure rose 63.6% YoY to Rs 5,533 crore in Q3 of FY25. Zomato’s profits slipped 57.2% YoY to Rs 59 crore in Q3. In the previous quarter (Q2 FY25), it booked Rs 176 crore in profits. On a unit level, the company spent Rs 1.02 to earn a rupee in Q3 of FY25. For the nine-month ended period (Apr-Dec 2025), Zomato recorded Rs 14,410 crore revenue from operations with a profit of Rs 488 crore. In December 2024, Zomato achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Indian startup to join the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex 30, replacing JSW Steel Limited. In the race for instant food delivery, a few days back, Zomato re-introduced a 15-minute food delivery service in select cities. The company also received a GST demand notice amounting to Rs 803 crore from the Thane Commissionerate in Maharashtra, related to the non-payment of GST on delivery charges, including interest and penalties. In the first week of January, Zomato was trading above Rs 250 when its foreign brokerage Jefferies downgraded Zomato from “buy” to “hold” rating, citing competition in the quick commerce space. Following the rating, its price tumbled down under Rs 230, however, on the back of strong YoY growth, the company is regaining momentum as its price is at Rs 239.9 with a market cap of Rs 2,10,336 crore or $24.3 Bn. With the increase in scale, MapMyIndia recorded a 29% increase in its profit to Rs 49 crore during Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 38 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal year. Meanwhile, annual profit increased by 10% to Rs 148 crore in FY25, up from Rs 134 crore in FY24. Looking at the expenses, the employee benefit cost accounted for 35% of the overall expenditure which fell 74% year-on-year to Rs 33 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 128 crore in Q4 FY24. Depreciation and other operating expenses were key overheads that drove total expenditure to Rs 95 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 187 crore in the same quarter last year. For the fiscal year ending March 2025, the firm’s total expenses fell to Rs 371 crore as compared to Rs 483 crore in FY24. Blackbuck booked profit before tax of Rs 41 crore in Q4 FY25, as compared to a loss of Rs 87 crore in Q4 FY24. Meanwhile, for the full fiscal year ended March 2025, the company remained at a loss of Rs 283 crore (before tax), 69% more than Rs 167 crore in FY24. Blackbuck debuted on the stock exchange at Rs 208.90 and is now trading at Rs 459 on May 27, bringing its total market capitalization to Rs 8,180 crore.

Income from the consumer segment formed 39% of the total operating revenue which increased to Rs 68 crore in Q3 FY25 from Rs 50 crore in Q3 FY25. Income from the remarketing and classified segment stood at Rs 58 crore and Rs 50 crore in the third quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. CarTrade also added Rs 17 crore from other non-operating businesses which tallied its overall revenue to Rs 193 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to Rs 152 crore in Q3 FY24. On the expense front, employee benefits expenses formed 53% of the overall spending which went up a modest 7.3% to Rs 73 crore during the period. This cost also includes share-based expenses of Rs 3.36 crore. CarTrade’s overall expenses increased 12% to Rs 140 crore in Q3 FY24 from Rs 125 crore during Q3 FY24. The strong growth and controlled spending enabled CarTrade to achieve a turnaround and post a net profit of Rs 45.5 crore in Q3 FY25, compared to a loss of Rs 23.5 crore in Q3 FY24. However, the company had already recorded a revenue of Rs 472 crore and a net profit of Rs 99 crore during the nine months of the ongoing fiscal year. CarTrade recorded a 4.78% hike in its share price today and is trading at Rs 1,433.3 (as of 12:47) with a total market capitalization of Rs 6,789 crore or $800 million.

With the increase in scale, MapMyIndia recorded a 4.2% increase in its profit to Rs 32.3 crore during Q3 FY25 as compared to Rs 31 crore in the third quarter of the previous fiscal year (Q3 FY24). MapMyIndia is currently trading at Rs 1609 per share with a market capitalization of Rs 8,753 crore ($1 billion). Last month, MapMyIndia announced that its CEO and whole-time director, Rohan Verma, will step down from his executive role effective March 31, 2025. Chairman and Managing Director Rakesh Kumar Verma will continue to provide leadership at MapMyIndia.

For the full fiscal year (FY25), its total income stood at Rs 4,066 crore. Infibeam operates a diversified digital platform, with a primary focus on digital payments and e-commerce solutions. On the cost side, the company’s total expenses rose by 66% to Rs 1,104 crore in Q4 FY25. For the digital payment firm, its payment processing was the largest cost center, rising by 68% to Rs 1,025 crore. Employee benefits increased by 30% to Rs 39 crore, while depreciation cost grew 6% to Rs 18 crore. Infibeam Avenues also incurred Rs 22 crore on other undisclosed expenses in the said quarter. For the fiscal year ending March 2025, the firm’s total expenses increased to Rs 3,768 crore. In the end, the company reported profit after tax of Rs 55 crore in Q4 FY25, 20% up from Rs 46 crore in Q4 FY24. On a fiscal year basis, its profit increased to Rs 236 crore in FY25 from Rs 156 crore in FY24. At 15:31 PM today, its market cap stood at Rs 5,579 crore while the firm’s stock was trading at Rs 20.

TBO’s operating revenue increased to Rs 446 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 369 crore in Q3 FY24, its consolidated financial statements sourced from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. Income from the booking of hotels and packages accounted for 80% of TBO’s revenue, which increased to Rs 357 crore in Q4 FY25. Meanwhile, income from air ticketing and other allied services brought Rs 79 crore and Rs 10 crore to the firm’s coffers. Hotels and packages, as the top revenue source, made service fees the largest cost center, accounting for 33.75% of total expenditure or Rs 135 crore in Q4 FY25. Employee benefits were Rs 99 crore in the same quarter. Overall, total costs rose to Rs 400 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 325 crore in Q4 FY24. The decent surge in scale and controlled expenditure led TBO to post a 28.3% YOY increase in its profits after tax to Rs 59 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 46 crore in Q4 FY24. However, for the full fiscal year, it posted a 15% YoY increase in PAT to Rs 230 crore in the previous fiscal (FY25). At the end of today’s (Thursday, May 22) trading session, TBO Tek saw around a 3% decrease in its stock, which stood at Rs 1,197 with a total market capitalization of Rs 13,005 crore or ($1.53 billion).
