An infamous hacking group is reportedly behind the cyberattack that has left US pharmacies reeling

A recent report reveals that the recent pharmacy delivery disruptions in the US were caused by a ransomware attack orchestrated by a notorious hacker gang known as Blackcat or ALPHV. The gang has been linked to several high-profile data breaches, including attacks on Reddit, Caesars Entertainment, and MGM Resorts. Law enforcement agencies seized websites and decryption keys associated with the gang in December, prompting the hackers to threaten critical infrastructure providers and hospitals. The attack on Change Healthcare, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group, resulted in ongoing system outages, causing a significant backlog in prescription insurance claims. UnitedHealth Group has employed cybersecurity firms to investigate the breach.
