Almost half of adults on TikTok have never posted a video, research shows

A recent study from Pew Research Center revealed that 48% of adults on TikTok have never posted a video, highlighting a high degree of camera shyness among users. This is significantly higher than other social media platforms, indicating that lurking is more common on TikTok. The study also found that the top 25% most active posters accounted for 98% of all public videos. Interestingly, age didn't seem to be a factor, as both younger and older users showed similar posting habits. As TikTok continues to grow, its role as a news source is also increasing, with 14% of U.S. adults now getting news from the platform.
