Air India to set up South Asia's largest flying school in Amravati

Tata Group's airline unit Air India is set to establish a Flying Training Organisation (FTO) at Amravati in the Vidarbha area. The FTO at Amravati's Belora airport is expected to become operational by mid-2026 and 180 commercial pilots will pass out every year. Notably, the FTO will have 31 single-engine and 3 twin-engine aircraft for training purposes.

Pune-based electric cycle manufacturer EMotorad, backed by cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is nearing completion of the first phase of its factory in Pune. The 240,000 sq. ft. facility, set to be inaugurated on 15th August, will have the capacity to produce 500,000 e-cycles. Eventually, it is expected to become South Asia's largest e-cycle gigafactory. EMotorad also plans to expand its product range and enter international markets. The company currently holds a 65% share of India's e-cycle market and aims to achieve sales of INR 270 crore in FY25.

Overseas air traffic up 13% in April-June, domestic airlines gain | Mint

The number of international passengers flying to and from India increased by 13% in the April-June quarter, reaching around 17.7 million passengers. This drove the share of domestic airlines in overseas traffic higher. Low-cost carrier IndiGo had the largest individual share of international traffic at 18.3%, followed by Air India with a 12.3% share. Overall, Indian airlines expanded their share of total overseas traffic to 45.6%, while the share of foreign airlines decreased to 54.4%. The increased demand for air travel is not limited to metros and is also seen in tier-2 cities in India.
