Does anyone know what happened to the app/company BeReal, they were targeting themselves as the alternative for Instagram and was very hyped by the people that it would replace Instagram

App is great. I sometimes use it. But then if I want to stay away from social media I would simply not use any app. If I do want to use social media I would use Instagram. They are kind of stuck in between

The daily active user base has shrunk to 2mil. They still don't have a clear path for profitability and in the midst of a financial crisis. The founder started the app with a good intent but there is no market for the app. Will be interesting to see how they bounce back.
