X releases its first transparency report since Elon Musk's takeover

Social media platform X, formerly Twitter, has released its first transparency report since being purchased by Elon Musk. The report reveals that X has removed millions of posts and accounts in the first half of this year. Roughly 5.3 million accounts were suspended, compared to 1.6 million in the first half of 2022. Additionally, over 10.6 million posts were removed or labeled for violating platform rules, with 5 million categorized as hateful conduct. X employs a combination of machine learning and human review to enforce their rules. Musk's ownership of the platform has garnered criticism for creating a chaotic and toxic environment.
