Uber partners with Shadowfax to integrate two-wheeler fleet

Global ride-hailing giant Uber has tied up with logistics provider Shadowfax to integrate its two-wheeler fleet with the ride-hailing platform’s UberMoto bike-taxi offering. With this collaboration, Shadowfax will be able to switch to UberMoto during lean work hours to provide bike-taxi services. When a rider requests an UberMoto on the app, their trip may be matched with Shadowfax drivers. These rides will be fulfilled by Shadowfax drivers using the Shadowfax driver app. There will be no change in the rider experience compared to their usual Uber trips. This partnership will enable Shadowfax to enhance its bike-taxi operations by adding more two-wheelers and launching services in towns where Shadowfax already operates, Uber said in a press release. Uber intends to double its entire supply pool by creating third-party integrations with existing two-wheeler service providers who are in the logistics space. It has gone live with a similar third-party technical integration in New York, where it onboarded the city’s Yellow Cabs on its ride-sharing platform. Shadowfax is planning a Rs 3,000 crore initial public offering (IPO) to expand its services for two-wheeler drivers. The company aims to become a major logistics player in India, offering an app with multiple earning opportunities. They also have a revenue-sharing agreement for rides booked on UberMoto that are completed by Shadowfax drivers.
