Bangladesh cuts power imports from Adani Power by half amid payment disputes, bribery charges, forex crisis | Company Business News

Bangladesh has reduced its electricity imports from India's Adani Power by half due to decreased winter demand and payment issues. Adani Power had previously cited delayed payments from Bangladesh as the reason for reducing supply. Bangladesh has requested Adani to maintain only half of the usual supply while settling outstanding dues. The power plant's operations have been affected, operating at its lowest capacity in November. The total dues owed by Bangladesh to Adani Power amounts to approximately $650 million, causing financial strain for the company. Bangladesh is also pushing for a reduction in Adani's rates, which are higher compared to other Indian suppliers.
