The Maharashtra Government has introduced an important agricultural welfare initiative in its 2026–2027 state budget: the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Farmer Debt Waiver Scheme. This policy aims to provide financial relief to farmers struggling with agricultural debt. Under the scheme, eligible farmers across Maharashtra will receive a crop loan waiver of up to Rs. 2,00,000. This step is expected to benefit a large number of farmers facing difficulties in repaying agricultural loans. According to the announcement, the scheme will apply to crop loans that were overdue as of September 30, 2025, provided the outstanding loan amount does not exceed Rs. 2 lakh. In addition to the loan waiver, the government has also announced an incentive of Rs. 50,000 for farmers who regularly repay their loans on time. This approach aims to balance financial relief with encouragement for responsible repayment behavior. The Department of Agriculture, Maharashtra will be responsible for implementing the scheme across the state. Farmers are expected to apply through the bank from which they took the crop loan. Such initiatives are crucial for strengthening the agricultural sector and ensuring financial sustainability for farmers. 📌 Full Details :- https://govtschemesindia.com/punyashlok-ahilyadevi-holkar-farmer-debt-waiver-scheme/
