The Beauty of Foolishness Steve Jobs once said, “Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” Foolishness in business is not recklessness. It is acting on an insight before there is permission, proof, or applause. The world resists foolish ideas because they challenge what already works. New directions make old assumptions uncomfortable. Every meaningful idea follows the same path: first it is foolish, then it is debated, and only later is it called obvious. Not all foolishness is valuable. Foolishness without insight is noise. Foolishness rooted in a real problem is signal. The task of a founder is not to avoid foolishness, but to ensure their foolishness is solving something real.
