I’ve been working on a fairly deep n8n automation and thought this might be useful to others building content or AI pipelines. This workflow takes multiple Google News RSS feeds and converts them into clean, structured articles, one link at a time, without relying on paid scrapers or external APIs. What it does, step by step: - Merges multiple RSS sources (AI, startups, policy, VC, etc.) - Filters news by recency and relevance - Normalizes fields and removes duplicates using hashing - Scores articles to prioritize quality - Resolves Google News redirect URLs to the real publisher link without using any third-party service. - Visits each article individually (not batch scraping) Extracts: - Clean title - Summary / description - Real article body text - Actual article image (not thumbnails or OG junk) - Handles both Next.js news sites and traditional CMS sites - Falls back gracefully when selectors fail - Outputs AI-ready structured JSON - Appends final results to Google Sheets

Key things I focused on: - No cheerio or disallowed libs - Pure n8n nodes + JS - Dynamic selectors instead of site-specific hacks - Designed for downstream AI usage (summarization, posting, newsletters) Sharing the workflow screenshot for context. Happy to explain any part of it or share learnings if anyone’s building something similar. I can add further automation with LLMs and I have a social media engine that is ready to post everything on WordPress and other social media platforms.
