Instead, it EXPOSED the fault lines of our event culture, where VIP access trumps public dignity, and mismanagement pretends to be a celebration. โฝ Messi appeared for just 20โ22 minutes, flanked by over 100 VIPs, security, and politicians. โฝ Most fans couldnโt even glimpse him. โฝ No clear seating, no crowd control, no accountability. โฝ Chaos erupted. Chairs were thrown, barricades broken, fires lit. Police intervened. Arrests were made. Injuries reported. โฝ West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee issued a public apology and ordered a high-level probe. โฝ The chief organiser was arrested for fraud and mismanagement. This wasnโt just poor planning. It was a betrayal of public TRUST. Messi didnโt fail us. Our systems did. Our OBSESSION WITH STATUS turned a moment of joy into a spectacle of exclusion. The real questions - โ Why did we need this so badly? โ Why do we keep outsourcing joy, bliss and meaning to celebrities and systems that never deliver?
