Imagine playing an RPG game where NPCs r integrated with an AI API, so they can actually talk to u while staying in character. This isn't a future thing actually. I worked with this kind of stuff before with "Jarvis Desktop". And for real this is easier to make than writing detailed dialogues for NPCs. There r some reasons we Game Developers r not doing this 1st of all Cost, AAA studios don't usually invest on new ideas and we indie teams don't have enough money. as alternative we can use and local SLM model but then NPCs will most probably throw a less emotional or even broken replies, they r hard to keep in context and character + they put a huge load on CPU So for now only way is using an LLM API I'm currently working on KryoGame's farming rpg, "Hoshifuru". If it manages to earn a good revenue, I will actually use AI in my next game NPCs. BTW here's my X handle, u can follow it: https://x.com/_pathik_sarkar_
