The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued a new order to apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, and Signal to prevent fraud. 1. The "90 Days" is a Deadline for Apps, Not You ⏳ The government has given these companies 90 days to update their systems. You don't need to go to a store to verify your number every 3 months. 2. The Real Rule: "SIM Binding" 🔒 Going forward, your messaging app will only work if the active SIM card is physically inside your phone. Current scenario: You can register WhatsApp, remove the SIM, and still use the app via Wi-Fi. New scenario: If you remove the SIM, the app may stop working. This prevents scammers from using your number on a different device. 3. The 6-Hour Web Rule 💻 If you use WhatsApp Web or Telegram on a laptop, you might soon be automatically logged out every 6 hours and forced to scan the QR code again for security. Why? To stop cyber fraud and scammers from using Indian numbers abroad without the actual SIM card. #IndiaTech #DigitalIndia #WhatsAppUpdate #CyberSecurity #DoT #TechNews
