DeepMind stayed in London, deliberately choosing to distance itself from Silicon Valley. Later, Google acquired the company for about $400,000, an amount that today looks symbolic. 2017 was the year of recognition. DeepMind's algorithm beat the leading go players — first the Korean, then the Chinese champion. The broadcast in China was stopped when it became clear that the person was losing. This moment has become a strategic signal for the entire state.: AI is not an experiment, but a new technological race. The AlphaZero project has become the next milestone. The algorithm was trained exclusively on its own batches — without human experience. It was a step towards systems that form knowledge from scratch. At the same time, DeepMind built the first AI agents with a reward system for successful actions. This approach allowed us to simulate complex behavior and move on to StarCraft—level tasks, an environment with continuous solutions and high dynamics.

The culmination is the victory in the CASP competition and the solution of the protein structure prediction problem. The work, which for decades was considered almost unsolvable, was closed with sufficient precision for scientific research. The Nobel Prize was awarded for this in 2024. https://youtu.be/d95J8yzvjbQ?si=zCcNGrploH25QFC- The best way to spend 1.5 hours is to get closer to the future
