About a year ago, my brother who runs a small electric shop told me: “You build apps, right? Make one for me. I need one simple app for billing, stock and credit. Using multiple apps is frustrating.” I ignored it and said "Later, I am currently busy" Then around 3 months ago, I saw a small conflict in a shop. The owner asked for a pending payment. The customer said, “Show me details.” The app only showed: “Atta, oil, ghee — ₹XXX.” No quantity. No breakdown. No proper bill. He tried sending a reminder but the message never reached. The customer said, “I don’t remember buying that much.” There was no anger — just confusion. But confusion creates mistrust. That moment changed everything. So 11 weeks ago, I started building StockMate — a simple offline-first business app for small shops: billing, inventory, credit ledger, reminders, multi-business, and auto sync.
