Fake voting, impersonation, and repeated voting still happen because anyone can walk in with someone elseโs voter ID. What if every EVM simply had a fingerprint lock? Before a voter presses the button, they place their finger on a biometric scanner. If the fingerprint matches the voter list and they havenโt voted already, the machine unlocks for one vote. After they finish, that fingerprint gets marked as โvoted,โ so it canโt be used anywhere again. The vote still stays fully secret โ biometrics are only for unlocking, not for tracking. For people with worn fingerprints, elderly voters, disabled voters, or cases where biometrics fail, the system uses backup methods like iris scan, facial match, or officer-approved OTP. This ensures no fake votes, no double voting, and no voter is excluded.
