Libas : An ethnic fusion Libas is an Indian women’s ethnic-fusion wear brand founded in 1985 in Noida and later transformed into a digital-first D2C fashion business present on its own site and major marketplaces, now also expanding offline through brand outlets and multi-brand stores across metros and soon tier-2/3 cities. The brand targets the modern Indian woman combining ethnic heritage with contemporary silhouettes and fast, trend-aligned designs to stay relevant and scalable in a crowded ethnic apparel market. The company recorded ~₹487 crore revenue in FY24 growing ~38% YOY but profits dropped sharply to ~₹5 crore due to high material costs, heavy advertising spends and employee expansion while simultaneously building inventory and offline infrastructure. Libas raised ~₹150 crore in 2024 from India Advantage Fund to drive Omnichannel expansion, improve supply chain and plan exports while aiming to reach ~₹1,000 crore revenue and an SME IPO in the next 2–3 years. Despite competitive pressure and margin constraints, Libas’ growth thesis is built on strong brand recall in ethnic wear, fast design cycle, digital distribution, omni-store expansion and diaspora/global potential of Indian fashion.
