In 1997, Mumbai's overcrowded airport prompted Maharashtra to approve a new airport project. However, land acquisition hurdles (villages), environmental concerns (trees), and funding delays stalled progress for 20+ years. The original company faced crises, leaving the project incomplete. Adani Group took over in 2020, completing it swiftly (in 3-4 years) due to its integrated ecosystem—self-supplying cement, energy, and green solutions. India's tendency to hate industrialists blindly and compare itself to China, and delay projects through narratives. Despite the airport's near-completion, public skepticism persists, with media focusing on controversies rather than progress. The delay highlights systemic inefficiencies, while Adani's success underscores the need for calculated policies, not hostility toward businesses driving development.
