Today marks the first 2 weeks of my journey to building something useful. Here is what I did (along with my 10 to 8 full time job) :- 1. Thought of a concept to build (came up with gamified productivity) 2. Learned to use AI to brainstorm names, generate logo, write copy etc. Finalized MC Dash (main character dashboard). 3. Build the landing page around the ideas I had. It’s pretty cool check it out :- https://mcdash.app 4. Learned some design concepts, looked into nextjs, supabase, aws and other tools and built a webapp which I can also open nicely in phone. It also turned out to be good. Finally thought of building a mobile app (my primary usecase) and started with the very basics which is a Todo app. I know I laughed too but I got humbled. 6. Started with light/dark mode as gamification can be added later if i feel like it. Here is the version with these features :- - add todo with completely natural language date parser (there is no date/time stupid modals) - temporal groupings (overdue, today, tomorrow, this week, later, someday, archive) - quick swipe gestures to edit, delete, and postpone todos - add/remove one or more tags to todos for personalized grouping - add notes and sub task for project or multi step based todos - beautiful and simple progress bars - single page (no jumping around) Upcoming features - recurring todos - reminders Well this is just humble todos, but my vision for this app is simply deserving a better life os which brings together best ui/ux solutions for todos, habits, notes, goals, and few other things on my phone. P.S. Since I have decided to build this in public I am open to suggestions, features requests and what not. I am Dogfooding my own app to build it. :)
