𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲’𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 — 𝗠𝘆 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 That awkward moment when your brain is hardwired for one thing, but a different app makes you do a whole U-turn. Spent a good minute staring at a Spotify video podcast the other day. My eyes went straight for the thumbnail—some dude with a big beard and a title that said "these jobs won't exist by 2030." Seemed straightforward enough, right? Except... I instinctively looked below the video player for the title, and saw "Burn or Earn? The 2025 Credit Card Strategy..." A completely different show. My brain did a full-on reboot. It's so weird how we've all been conditioned by YouTube's UI. The title is just... there, below the video. It's the law of the internet, practically. But Spotify puts the title above the thumbnail, nestled with the podcast name. Every single time, I have to mentally double-check and find the right one. It's a small thing, but it’s a tiny friction point that messes with my muscle memory. Maybe it's a legacy thing, since they're primarily an audio app. But with video podcasts becoming more common, maybe they should rethink it? What do you guys think? Should the title be below the video thumbnail, or is this "above" design fine?
