The Great Shift in Indian Healthcare: Corporates Rising, Clinics Struggling Indiaโs healthcare is undergoing a silent transformation. Over the last five years: ๐ฅ Corporate hospitals, backed by billions in private equity and venture capital, have expanded aggressively in metros and Tier-2/3 towns. ๐ฉโโ๏ธ Independent doctors and small hospitals, once the backbone of community healthcare, are struggling with compliance burdens, shrinking patient trust, and an unfair marketing gap. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐ง Patients are caught in the middle - balancing the convenience of corporates with the trust of independent clinics. The numbers speak for themselves: SMEs spend about โน10,000 per bed on marketing. Corporates spend nearly โน4.2 lakh per bed. In Maharashtra alone, 5% of small hospitals shut down every year due to rising costs.
