I missed a deadline because a “quick scroll” became an hour, not proud of it. I tried every app blocker i could find, most were so strict i’d uninstall them, or so easy i’d bypass them. So i built timerx to nudge, not punish. first weekend test: a 20 second wait before instagram, a 45 minute daily cap, and a tiny overlay that said “ship the update”. I shipped. that small pause made me decide, instead of drifting. i’m curious how other builders handle this. do you prefer hard bans or gentle friction? Or a balance between the two.
